The Hall Committee thought it would be useful to get something out to the community to explain what our current aims are.

Building on the events calendar that has already evolved, we are keen to encourage members of the community to participate in more activities surrounding the hall. To this end we have included an events calendar for the year ahead to let you see what our plans are, in addition, we would like to hear what sort of events/activities you would like to see at the hall.

We would like to try and widen the scope of activities at the hall and would therefore like to ask if there are people interested in doing community workshops for adults and children – these could include dance, drama, singing, art or crafts. Are you interested in doing a talk? Or do you know any interesting characters/authors who might come and do a talk or a reading? Are there any sports enthusiasts?

Did you know that you don’t have to be on the Hall Committee to help out with events? At the AGM various members of the community suggested that they would be happy to help out where required, we would like to take you up on your offer. Fundraising
Our aims are twofold, while offering a range of events for the community we also need to raise money! Generally, the money raised from attended events and private hire pays for the upkeep of the hall and some small refurbishments. In order to offer more facilities within the hall we have to raise more money. In addition to smaller refurbishments (which are still quite major) like internal upgrades, painting the outside and inside of the hall, the Hall Committee has been trying to raise funds for some special projects- most recently the provsion of disabled access and toilet facilities.

If you would like to make any suggestions regarding events/activities, please put it in writing and post it into Juliet & Bruce’s silver mail box. (1st house on the right as you enter Letham, next to the park)
