Young Ceilidh Musicians wanted..... The Tayside Institute, Newburgh, will be hosting a St Patricks Day Ceilidh on 14th March 2009. This will be in aid of the Newburgh Community Trust. The Trust will be organising the day and the band will be organised by local musician David J Ford. Building on the Monday night Youth Club guitar workshop at the Tayside Institute, we need lead players to join the guitarist & keyboard players. Accordion & fiddle are currently among the highest in demand. It’s hoped that the Ceilidh can be seen as a goal for youngsters who have never yet played live, to work for, although experienced youngsters will of-course add valuable momentum & confidence. There are adults ready in back-up if needed but it is hoped that a mainly or exclusively 16 & under band be formed for the event with roles swapping throughout the night for different dances. For more information click here (Added 6th November 2008) |
